The New Town Hotel is an independent, family-run hotel at 8 York Place, in the Georgian New Town. It was fully refurbished in 2025. Rooms have a smart TV, free wifi and tea and coffee; the front desk is staffed around the clock and there is a bar on site. It is one of the first independent Edinburgh hotels to join NovaBid as a founding partner.

For a work trip this is the right end of town: Waverley station is about five minutes on foot, the tram stop at St Andrew Square is closer still, and the offices of George Street, St Andrew Square and the St James Quarter are all within a short walk.
