Cookie Policy

This policy applies to novabid.co.uk and forms part of our Privacy Policy. It explains the small set of cookies and similar technologies we use, including browser storage, and the one category that only ever runs with your consent.
1. Strictly necessary cookies (always on, no consent needed)
Set by our authentication provider (Supabase) to keep you logged in, keep your session secure, and remember your language choice. The platform cannot work without them. They are first-party, and most expire when your session ends. Two items of first-party browser storage are also strictly necessary: nb-cookie-consent (localStorage) records the choice you make in our cookie banner and is kept until you clear it or change your choice; nb-trip-draft (localStorage) keeps a draft of the trip request you are filling in, including any guest names you type, so it survives a refresh or signing in, and is deleted when you send the request or clear the form. Neither is sent to us or to anyone else. If you turn on pop-up alerts in Settings, your browser also keeps a notification subscription for NovaBid until you turn alerts off; it is strictly necessary for the alerts you asked for (see our Privacy Policy, section 2).
2. Privacy-first analytics (no cookies)
We use Vercel Web Analytics to count page views. It sets no cookies and does not track you across sites or build a profile; under PECR no consent is required. We see aggregate numbers only.
3. Marketing measurement, only with your consent
Two things run only if you accept via the cookie banner. First, if we run campaigns for hotels or business customers on LinkedIn, the LinkedIn Insight Tag measures whether those campaigns work; it is a third-party tag that can set cookies and share limited data (URL, IP address, device properties) with LinkedIn. Second, the visit source tag, nb_attribution (sessionStorage): when you arrive from a link that says where it came from (an ad, a newsletter, or an AI assistant such as Claude), we keep the source, campaign, the page you landed on and the page that referred you, in your browser only, until you close the tab. If you create a NovaBid account in that tab, it is copied to your account so we know which channels bring us customers. You can withdraw consent at any time using the button below; declining removes the tag and stops the LinkedIn tag loading. If you do nothing, or decline, nothing is kept.
4. What we do not do
No advertising cookies without consent, no cross-site tracking, no sale of data, no third-party ad networks on the platform.
5. Managing cookies
You can change your consent choice at any time with the button below. You can also clear or block cookies in your browser settings; blocking the strictly necessary ones will stop login from working.
