What gets in the way
Time. BioQuarter visits run tight: 9am at Little France, lunch with a Roslin researcher, afternoon at QMRI. Searching Booking.com for 'Edinburgh hotel near hospital' returns a mess of central listings that mean a 25-min taxi each morning. On NovaBid you name the venue in the brief, so every hotel that replies knows where your visitor needs to be at 9am.
Money. Booking-site commission is built into the published rate, which matters when visitors are on per-diem caps. On NovaBid the hotel quotes the trip directly and the price on the offer is what you pay, with no booking fee or markup, so it is easy to check against the cap.

Any Edinburgh address. Hotels see the venue name on the request and can pitch with proximity in mind.

How does this work for visiting US or EU pharma partners?
The flow is identical. The visiting researcher's details (name, email, phone) go on the booking and they receive the confirmation directly, so an assistant booking from another office or another country is exactly the case the platform is built for.
Can we book multi-night stays for visiting fellows or trial coordinators?
Yes. The platform was designed for 1 to 7 night stays. For longer stays such as clinical trial visits or sabbatical placements, put the dates in the brief: hotels can quote a weekly rate, and Edinburgh has independent serviced-apartment operators whose formats suit longer visits.
Do we get a single confirmation for accounting?
Yes. Each confirmed booking generates a single confirmation with hotel name, dates, total amount and your firm's details. Compatible with most US, EU and UK research-org expense systems.
Does NovaBid charge our institute or research org any fee?
No. NovaBid is free for SMBs and research orgs. The commission (12% standard, 10% for founding partners) is paid by the hotel as the cost of winning your booking. You only ever pay the rate the hotel offered.
